Our 2015 Year in Review

2015 was a crazy, busy and awesome year for us. It seems we all think that about every year but this year it has really felt like that for us.

We worked our butts off at times and made some tough decisions but we also had some great adventures.

These great adventures included two amazing highlights: an 11 day long road trip around Iceland and a dream honeymoon in the Maldives. Those two trips were the kind that we’ll probably look back on in 30 years and it’ll still bring a smile to our faces.

Along with Iceland and the Maldives, we also visited Spain, Ireland, Czech Republic, USA & Canada.

Near the end of the year, we finally made the leap and quit our jobs to travel around the world. We’re 1 month into this dream trip now and already feel so much happier prioritising travelling and exploring over staring at spreadsheets and emails all day long.

We want to figure out a way to balance travelling the world, doing work we love and earning enough money to cover it all and this first year of travel will definitely be one of learning.

We know things might not go our way and we could end up penniless but even after a month, I know deep down we won’t regret this trip regardless of what happens over the next few years. Life is short and we don’t have time to wait until the ‘perfect time’ to do this.

Stepping back and looking through photos, stories and videos from past trips is exactly why travel is the only thing you spend money on that makes you richer.

Instead of writing out our thoughts on 2015 out though we thought it would be much more fun to cobble together a montage from our past year of travel (and our Youtube channel was lacking a trailer too!).

Every year needs a montage after all.

So if you’ve got a spare 90 seconds, check out our new video Travel the World below (a montage of some of our 2015 travels):

So what does 2016 hold for us?

We don’t really know yet and that is an exciting (and new) thing for us. We know we’ll spend 2 or 3 months in New Zealand (our flight there is booked for the 25th January at least) and we know we’ll be going to a couple of weddings there in March but other than that…we don’t know.

We’re excited about potentially heading back to Southeast Asia and seeing some places we love again but equally we’re excited about exploring new places.

We’ll reveal more about our rough travel plans and things like that as our ideas unfold on our monthly newsletters so if you haven’t subscribed to get those via email then you can do that right here below (you’ll also get our weekly updates and a list of our latest posts and videos along with a detailed breakdown of how much it really costs to travel around the world each month).

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year, we wish you all an amazing 2016!
